EIT Health is looking for highly talented, coachable and resilient individuals working in clinical, technical or business fields to join the program. Application can be as a team of up to three people who have a proposal, or as individuals, with or without a proposal. The Wild Card Journey
2-14 MARCH 2020 – THE MEETING PLACE ONLINE
A two-week online curriculum offering lectures and insights on challenge areas as well as business / commercialization elements. This takes place in a dedicated online space open to program participants only, offering an opportunity to network ahead of the Hackathon.
15-21 MARCH 2020 – THE HACKATHON
This consists of five days of intensive training where applicants form teams, challenge their ideas and develop a proposal under the supervision of and support from experts. On the last day of the Hackathon, teams will pitch their ideas to the Judging Panel. A maximum of six teams will progress to the next stage.
APRIL 6 – JUNE 25, 2020 – THE BUSINESS MODEL VALIDATION
The six successful teams from the Hackathon will be invited to a 10-week acceleration program run by CIMIT, an accelerator based in Boston, USA. The acceleration program begins with a two-day training session (April 6-7, 2020) in person and continues for 10 weeks on a part-me basis online as two-hour weekly sessions. Teams will be led through the customer discovery and business model validation process in which they will be tasked with validating key assumptions about different aspects of their proposal. Each team will be assigned dedicated US and European mentors to support them on their journey.
26 JUNE 2020 – FINAL PITCH AND INVESTMENT DECISION IN PERSON IN MUNICH, GERMANY
The selection process culminates with a final pitch in front of the EIT Health Panel where teams present their final proposals for investment. Up to two teams will be chosen to incorporate their venture as a legal entity under the Wild Card program.
Following the award and incorporation into a start ‑ up, Wild Card winning ventures will be given: a place at an incubator of their choice within the EIT Health network, access to the rest of the EIT Health network and partners, a lead mentor, organizational coaches, milestone review meengs with VC investors, ongoing support from an EIT Health project manager and up to € 1 million of funding per team per year. It is expected that founders of Wild Card ventures will dedicate their full working capacity to the development of the solution or start ‑ up over the 24 ‑ month period.
