One year on, the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) will present the results of the innovative programmes. The online event will be opened by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.
EIT Health Germany is especially proud that one of three innovators, who have benefitted from the support and will be on the panel, is ViruShield’s David Schmelzeisen. The project was selected to be part of EIT’s Rapid Response programme. Find more information here.
Panellists (supported innovators):
- Odile Duvaux, CEO of Xenothera, a company supported by the EIC that has developed a treatment for patients with moderate COVID-19 (currently in a clinical trial, ready this summer);
- Peter Lakatos, CEO of Entremo, from Team Discover who won the EIC #EUvsVirus Hackathon and supported by the EIT;
- David Schmelzeisen, Co-Founder of Impact Products (Project ViruShield) a project supported by the EIT that has created alternative high-performance personal protective equipment (PPE) fabric.
