We are co-founding the first annual Bits & Pretzels HealthTech Conference!

EIT Health is proud to announce that, together with our partner Roche, we have become founding partners in Bits & Pretzels HealthTech Conference, a new annual event that puts healthtech start-ups at its core.

Bits & Pretzels is starting a conversation on how innovation and digital transformation can shape a healthier future and better patient care. Following the Bits & Pretzels spirit, healthtech start-ups will be at the centre of the event, enabling them to meet on eye-level with investors, insurers, executives, and policymakers.

The conference will take place at ICM Munich and will start a conversation on how innovation and digital transformation can shape a healthier future and better patient care. It will address various issues and themes that are becoming more and more important in the healthtech world. From the patient journeys to transformational technologies – we will put different opinions into the spotlight and ask the right questions, optimistic yet critical.

It is not a coincidence that Bits & Pretzels HealthTech is happening now. The pandemic allowed all of us to rethink current rules and regulations and gave us a great opportunity to leverage the innovation power of a maturing healthtech ecosystem. We have seen rapid growth in the last few years, and there are no signs that this is slowing down. That’s why our focus must lie on cooperation, shared learnings, and new alliances along the whole ecosystem to keep the positive evolution going and to use the potential of healthtech to improve the lives of billions.

“As Europe’s largest network of best-in-class health innovators, we’re delighted to be a founding partner of an event which puts healthtech start-ups at its core, together with our partner Roche. We are excited to bring key players from Europe’s healthcare ecosystem together and lead the discussion on how healthcare innovation can enable European citizens to live longer, healthier lives.”- says Jean-Marc Bourez, CEO ad interim, EIT Health.

Event Themes

  • Patient journeys
    • From prevention, diagnosis to treatment, and aftercare. Better technology often defines new patient journeys, but when does it lead to better healthcare? Let’s discuss what it takes to really improve patients’ lives.
  • The provider perspective
    • There is a lot of new tech out there, giving providers huge opportunities. Start-ups can be at the forefront to help them deliver. But how to overcome barriers to adoption, implementation, and collaboration? Let’s take these frontiers down to the studs and talk about scalable solutions.
  • The health(care) systems of the future
    • Different systems – different regulations – different markets? Is it even possible to build “pan-European” healthtech champions? How can different countries learn from each other and are there opportunities in diversity? Let’s bring together innovators and policymakers at one table and find out.
  • Transformational technologies
    • From AI to bio 2.0 and IoT ingestible. Are those only buzzwords or will these propel us towards better and more efficient healthcare? A lot of innovation comes from the better deployment of existing means. But let’s check for these potentials in technology-driven innovation for the years to come.
