Digital Health Start-up MEDIKURA receives EXIST funding and gets awarded as EU Top 50 at the Hemicycle Start-up Convention
Big success for EIT Health Alumni MEDIKURA: The team around the founder and CEO Friderike Bruchmann has received an EXIST funding by the German Ministry of Economics to launch their start-up project from the Center for Digital and Technology Management in Munich. In addition to that, the team was invited to the European Parliament during the 9th European Innovation Summit as EU Top 50 of the Hemicycle Start-up Convention.
MEDIKURA is one of the successful examples for the transition of Campus alumni into the Accelerator. Friderike Bruchmann participated in a CDTM Trendseminar in 2017 and got in touch with our Business Creation Manager Eva-Maria Markutzik to learn how she could push forward her business idea with the help of EIT Health. Her business idea tackles the following challenge: Less than 0.5% of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) cases are officially reported. Reliable data on ADRs is desperately needed for treatment, drug safety, and drug discovery. Therefore, MEDIKURA develops a healthcare IT and analytics platform with the primary goal to improve drug safety. They offer a holistic process innovation by providing an automatic, standardized and central reporting platform which connects patients, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies in real-time. MEDIKURA provides pharmaceutical companies with digital interfaces to enable multi-directional data exchange between all stakeholders.
From the German CLC, Friderike received solid feedback on the business idea and the chance to present MEDIKURA at the SHIP – Ship for Health Innovation Pitches.
