IMIM Spring School – Industry & Innovation Day 2018
This event is in the past
The International Master in Innovative Medicine (IMIM), an Erasmus+ Master Degree focused on the education of tomorrow’s leading translational biomedical researchers, is jointly organized by three European Top 100 Universities: The University of Groningen in the Netherlands, the University of Heidelberg in Germany and Uppsala University in Sweden (innovativemedicine.eu). The yearly Spring School focuses on the students’ personal development and growth, and their acquisition of soft skills. From 2018 onward, one day of the Spring School will focus on industrial perspectives in the biomedical sciences.
The aim of the Industry & Innovation Day is to foster interaction between biomedical students, IMIM management and industry. With the support of EIT Health, several contributors from small, medium-sized and large industries will be invited. During the Industry from the Inside session industry representatives will give short talks to provide a perspective on their work and company activities. The industry representatives will have a chance to discuss potential cooperation with IMIM and EIT Health, network with the students during the Poster Session and potentially recruit a talented student for an internship in their company.
During an intensive 2-hour workshop, experienced business coaches Georg Fisher (mindshift.one) and Frank Rust (SOMMERRUST GmbH) will demonstrate how to develop innovative biomedical and life sciences ideas applying the Design Thinking method and prototyping. Presentation and communication coach Colin Bennett (Flames a Mile High) will share the secret of persuasive presentations, help students to engage their audience and improve their pitching skills.
