The team of EIT Health Germany is based in Mannheim and Heidelberg and is responsible for the implementation of the organisation’s objectives and its day-to-day management.

Uli Harnacke

    Since April 2017, Uli Harnacke has been appointed as Managing Director (ad interim) of the German EIT Health GmbH. In this position he is responsible for the strategic business management of the organization.

    He has a diploma as an engraver, engineer and operating psychologist, is certified in production and inventory management, is a certified business process professional and a psychodynamic business coach. Since 1993, he has worked as a Business Consultant in process, quality and innovation management and is the founder of “teamPRO3”.

    He has industrial experiences in the chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, ICT, medical products and diagnostics and service provider sectors.

Sigrid Koller

    After final secondary school examinations (Abitur) in 1979, Sigrid Koller attended the Institute for rational office management and received the degree of state-certified language secretary. After interesting professional experiences at John Deere GmbH, Vileda GmbH, AstraZeneca, she joined the German EIT Health GmbH in May 2015.

    In this position, she is responsible for the coordination and organisation of the office management, financial management, travel management, meeting coordination, event management, etc. in a diversified working environment. Here she can deploy her long-standing professional experience, her joy of implementation, her communication and all her other multiple skills.

Dr. Stephanie Bechtel

    After receiving her PhD in Biology from Saarland University, Stephanie Bechtel worked as PostDoc in the lab of Prof. Annemarie Poustka at the German Cancer Research Center where she has been in charge of various projects within the National Genome Research Network. Afterwards she became a scientific coordinator at the Department of the Chairman and Scientific Director of the German Cancer Research Center and was responsible among other things for international evaluations, coordination and implementation of Management Board matters and the preparation of scientific reports.

    From 2011 until 2015 she was with the BioRN Cluster Management as an Innovation Manager supporting academia-industry partnerships of the cluster partners and the third party funding services of BioRN.

    She joined the German EIT Health GmbH in April 2015 as Innovation Manager where she is responsible for the coordination of the Innovation activities of the German CLC and also supporting the business creation activities, especially the German Head Start Call. She is also member of the international Innovation coordinators team of EIT Health.

Christine Neumann

Communication Manager

    As Communication Manager of the German EIT Health GmbH, Christine Neumann is directly responsible for the internal and external communication, public relations and event management of EIT Health at national and international level. Before joining EIT Health in January 2016, she worked 10 years in Brussels in different positions. In her last position at CSR Europe, she was leading the Membership & Stakeholder Relations Team and was also directly responsible for companies of the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, the recruitment of new member companies, the collaboration with the EU institutions and for the topic of “Health and Wellbeing”.

    Before joining CSR Europe, she worked for the German and Austrian Permanent Representation to the EU in the areas of development policy, family affairs policy, communication, public relations and event management. She studied in Germany and the UK (M.A. in International Management) with a focus on corporate social responsibility and wrote both dissertations with Merck KGaA.

Eva-Maria Markutzik

Business Creation Manager | Accelerator and Education Services

    Eva-Maria Markutzik is a marketing and communication specialist, connecting communication and design skills with entrepreneurship.

    Eva studied Media and Communication Sciences at the universities of Erfurt, Augsburg, and Barcelona. During her stay in Catalonia’s capital she decided to turn her theoretical knowledge into practice. Thus she began working as a freelance journalist while finishing her master’s thesis.

    In 2013 she joined the BioRN Cluster Management as online editor. Since then she has been involved in the Biotech Entrepreneurship activities at Heidelberg University and further business creation programs such as the “Health Axis Europe Accelerator” for start-ups. Furthermore, Eva created and implemented a communication and marketing strategy for the BioMed X Innovation Center.

    Since July 2016 she is Business Creation Manager at the German EIT Health GmbH providing accelerator and education services to EIT Health members and start-ups in the field of biotech, medtech and digital health.

Dr. Svenja Vater

    Svenja Vater studied biophysics at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern before she started her doctorate at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg in 2009. At the beginning she worked in Heidelberg at the Institute of applied physical Chemistry in the group of Prof. Dr. Michael Grunze. In 2011 she moved with her group to the institute of functional interfaces (IFG) at the Karlsruhe institute of technology (KIT).

    Since March 2017 she works as project manager at the German EIT Health GmbH. She is mostly responsible for the head start projects in order to fund start-ups, spin-offs and small companies.

Sarah Ganz

Project Manager

    In her role as a Project Manager of the German EIT Health GmbH, Sarah Ganz is responsible for Evaluation ad Monitoring processes and in particular for the Head Start projects to fund start-ups, spin-offs and small enterprises.

    After her degree as an engineer in structural and environmental planning from the Technical University Kaiserslautern, she worked as a Project Manager for BioRN in the area of Evaluation and Monitoring. In October 2012, she started her doctorate at the Ruprecht Karls University of Heidelberg.
