The team of EIT Health Germany is based in Mannheim and Heidelberg and is responsible for the implementation of the organisation’s objectives and its day-to-day management.

Dr. Katharina Ladewig

    Prior to joining EIT Health, Katharina worked extensively in academia both in Germany and Australia, focusing on translational activities and building innovation partnerships between academia and SMEs in addition to primary research. Her past experience includes the bench-to-bedside translation of a number of novel bio(nano)materials, pharmaceutical drug delivery technologies and medical devices and she previously held a prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Super Science Fellowship at The University of Melbourne, Australia, where she continues to hold an honorary appointment. She joined EIT Health in Oct 2015 initially as Director (UK-Ireland) and was appointed Director EIT Health (Germany) effective Jan 2018. Katharina was educated in Germany and Australia, and holds degrees in science (MSc – Chemistry 2005), engineering (PhD – Biomedical Engineering 2009), higher education (Melbourne Teaching Certificate 2011), and business management (MBA 2015).

Mohammad Chehadé

    Assuming the role of the Education Manager for EIT Health Germany, Mohammad aims to expand the network between German/Swiss partners and other European partners, hence developing and engaging them in new projects and activities with a focus on education and entrepreneurship.

    Mohammad Chehadé obtained his Master’s degree from the RWTH Aachen University in Germany in mechanical engineering.

    Before joining EIT Health in May 2018, he was working for 6 years in the RWTH Aachen University as a scientific researcher in the fields of biomechanics, engineering education, project management of EIT Health and RawMaterials projects as well as applications within Industry 4.0.

Matteo Consonni

Business Creation Manager

    In his role as Business Creation Manager, Matteo provides business creation services to EIT Health Germany members and German/Swiss start-ups in the field of biotech, medtech and digital health.

    Before joining EIT Health Germany, Matteo grew professional experience in the European startup ecosystem from different perspectives. In 2013 he founded the startup Noc, that was awarded with the European Youth Award 2015 for the category Connecting Cultures. Later, he worked as business development manager in an international startup company in scale-up phase. Since December 2015 he was working as program manager of the Venture Academy – the acceleration program for startups offered by Centre for Innovation Leiden University. Thanks to these experiences he had the chance to visit and get in touch with the startup and investor ecosystem in Europe and abroad.

    He holds a BSc in Political Science at Università degli Studi di Milano and an MSc in Public Administration with a focus on market regulation and innovation policy. In 2016 he started in Milan the first Italian chapter of the Awesome Foundation.

Sigrid Koller

    After final secondary school examinations (Abitur) in 1979, Sigrid Koller attended the Institute for rational office management and received the degree of state-certified language secretary. After interesting professional experiences at John Deere GmbH, Vileda GmbH, AstraZeneca, she joined the German EIT Health GmbH in May 2015.

    In this position, she is responsible for the coordination and organisation of the office management, financial management, travel management, meeting coordination, event management, etc. in a diversified working environment. Here she can deploy her long-standing professional experience, her joy of implementation, her communication and all her other multiple skills.

Eva-Maria Markutzik

Innovation Manager

    Eva-Maria Markutzik (née Gottmann) is a marketing and communication specialist, connecting communication and design skills with entrepreneurship and innovation in biotech, medtech and digital health.

    Eva studied Media and Communication Sciences at the universities of Erfurt, Augsburg, and Barcelona. During her stay in Catalonia’s capital she started working as a freelance journalist while finishing her Master’s thesis.

    In 2013, she joined the Biotech-Cluster Rhine-Neckar Management in Heidelberg as online editor. Since then, she has co-created the Biotech Entrepreneurship activities at Heidelberg University sparking entrepreneurial spirit among life scientists (www.biotech-entrepreneurship.com). Meanwhile, she was responsible for public relations and communication activities with various stakeholders such as the Federal Ministry of Research and Education.

    As Head of Marketing, Eva created and implemented an international communication and marketing strategy for the BioMed X Innovation Center while the company scaled up from less than 20 to more than 60 employees (www.bio.mx).

    As of first April 2018, Eva-Maria Markutzik (neé Gottmann) will assume the role of Innovation Manager of EIT Health Germany. Eva joined EIT Health Germany in 2016 and has provided business creation and education services to EIT Health Germany members and German/Swiss start-ups in the field of biotech, medtech and digital health. In her role as Innovation Manager for the CLC, she will now focus her attention on building cross-border and cross-sectional innovation projects between EIT Health partners from different regions and with different strengths in developing and implementing innovative healthcare solutions for the benefit of patients and people in Europe.

Christine Neumann

Communication & Public Affairs Manager

    As Communication & Public Affairs Manager of the German EIT Health GmbH, Christine Neumann is directly responsible for the internal and external communication, public relations and event management of EIT Health at national and international level. Before joining EIT Health in January 2016, she worked 10 years in Brussels in different positions. In her last position at CSR Europe, she was leading the Membership & Stakeholder Relations Team and was also directly responsible for companies of the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, the recruitment of new member companies, the collaboration with the EU institutions and for the topic of “Health and Wellbeing”.

    Before joining CSR Europe, she worked for the German and Austrian Permanent Representation to the EU in the areas of development policy, family affairs policy, communication, public relations and event management. She studied in Germany and the UK (M.A. in International Management) with a focus on corporate social responsibility and wrote both dissertations with Merck KGaA.

Anke Neziraj

Liaison Manager Baden-Württemberg

    Anke joined our team January 2018 as a Liaison Manager Baden-Württemberg. She has been working for several years in Project Management in the Pharmacy and Medical Device industries. Her responsibilities covered compiling and monitoring Project Controlling (including Project Scheduling and Cost Controlling), Stakeholder Management and Project Coordination.

    In addition, her role included being a coordinator of the interdisciplinary cooperation between the various departments of research and development team, regulatory affairs, risk management and quality assurance.

    Her core competence is the analytical and creative thinking which has always helped her to understand logical sequences and build comprehensive workflows. She is a solution-oriented person who will always go the extra mile to make it work and tackle any bottlenecks that might appear in the process. She is driven by delivering results in time and with a flawless quality. Besides, teamwork, meticulous attention to details and effective communication are skills that have always helped her to achieve her project aims.
